This is the PROGRAM of the

Kingston Numismatic Society

We have a members' auction twice a year (June and December).
In January there is no formal meeting, but an informal gathering is usually held at the house of one of the members.

The February meeting is devoted to members' short talks, usually on a set theme.
September is the Annual General Meeting - not usually as boring as this might sound, because it includes our annual Display Competion, and a perpetual cup is awarded for what is voted to be the best display.
The remaining meetings are normally talks by visiting or guest speakers, or sometimes by one of our own "celebrities"!

Here is the program for the rest of the current year (1996/7):

July 17th ... The Presidents' Evening, with Dr George Bullmore

August 21st ... 'Papal Coins (Part 2)' by our very own Norman Clarkson

September 18th ... Annual General Meeting and Display Competition

And for the year 1997/8 we will have:

October 16th ... Henry Stern: 'A View of 19th Century England from Tokens and Medallions'

November 20th ... Dennis Cooper: 'The Development of Coinage Dies from Bronze to Steel'

December 18th ... 58th Members' Auction

January (1998) ... No Official Meeting

February 19th ... Members' Evening: short talks on the theme of 'Weapons and Warriors'

March through August ... please click here to see the 1997/1998 programme

September 17th ... Annual General Meeting and Display Competition

Our monthly meetings start at 7.30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month (except December and January) at
KING ATHELSTAN SCHOOL
VILLIERS ROAD
KINGSTON-UPON-THAMES
SURREY, ENGLAND

The December meeting is held as above but on the second Thursday (so as not to conflict with Christmas preparations).

For further details about our Society, please send an e-mail (by clicking below), which will be passed on for attention of our Secretary (Norman Clarkson) or Treasurer (Robert Goff).
